Macarons
Macarons are a delicate French pastry, known for ruffled ‘feet’, with two shiny shells encasing a flavorful filling. The exterior has a slight crispness that gives way to a soft interior, creating a luxurious experience.
Macaron shells are made with almond flour and therefore are gluten free. However, they are made in the same cookie studio as items containing gluten and are not safe for those with allergies. For those wishing to avoid gluten but do not have an allergy, macarons make a wonderful choice when paired with a gluten free filling.
Macarons need to be refrigerated and are best enjoyed within 24-48 hours of delivery for peak flavor and texture, though they may be kept in the fridge for up to 1 week. The longer the filling rests inside the cookies, the deeper the flavor and the softer the shells will be. Fruit fillings will soften at a faster rate than ganache or buttercream fillings.
